White Ashes 06:35
Snow falls Without a sound From a high castle Built on sand By day the flames burned With red embers By night the fires died As rained, white ashes In the silence The storm is approaching Turn from the wind Secede Crossing the river wide Holding out an open hand That is not taken And turned Aside Snow Falls without a sound From a high castle Built upon sand As ashes released from a cask scatter May the soil made clay Make the shivering all fade away May this detritus make plain That our story could make way As the last fading hope dies In the face of the sun All your demons shall guide the way Tremble Before Thine Castle

Nightfall 05:49
Oh fading sun Why does your light cower Before the oncoming of the moon As dusk descends in a caviled smile of silver light Extolled only by Phantoms in the night May I remember Moonflowers To walk unseen, truest freedom Offering reverence to forgotten fauna May I remember the still found in the black Judgement dissolved This world a haven Once more Nurtured at the source My soul takes flight Into the blessed night Burrowed in a hollow tree Cut out my eyes Repudiate The languid gnashing of day Such stillborn dreams Inside a womb of thorns The promise of the sun Bury the promise of the sun Bury Bury Oh fading moon Why must your shadow cower Before the judgement Of the sun

Titan Arum 03:09
Predatory corm Incubating in the earth inflorescence dreams Nurtured by the worms A tower extends As so begins An era of caustic necrosis As light from above Scalds through the stone Death shall come again in droves This jungle a chorus Of hunter and prey Hiding from the madness Imposed Hissing of the serpent Bellow of the croc Chuffing of the tiger Exalt Where only beasts may dwell So doth your feral roots as well Unfolding spathe Opens the eye Mouth of crimson Stretches wide Malodorous bloom Sends out the call To carrion creatures now to spawn Oh moss covered, sun drowned Nursery of vampires Exhume divine Remembrance Oh Avian carriers Scatter the splendor Exhume divine Remembrance
4.
Tongueless 06:53
Soft sheen of a riptide None ever see Transposed as a melody Of unhindered words You left me here, blind No candle in this forest night You left me here, blind Tongueless she scatters Hyacinth flowers Violet as sundown Muted, shadow companion Walks along side us Silently binds us As leaves are thrown To forest floors As leaves we lie and wait To be carried away Sleepless my soul As silhouette of your memory Dances behind my eyes Romance of stolen glance A sinful plead to cast aside The numbing cold, of mortal entrapment Necromantic Lullaby You Left me here blind, no candle in this forest night, you left me here blind As leaves are blown To forest floors As leaves we lie still and wait For cold winds to carry us away Your shadow holds my hand, black melody fills in my lines Your shadow holds my hand, this sorrow leads me

Slipping softly through the sky Little horned, happy moon, Can you hear me up so high? Will you come down soon? On my nursery window-sill Will you stay your steady flight? And then float away with me Through the summer night? Brushing over tops of trees, Playing hide and seek with stars, Peeping up through shiny clouds At Jupiter or Mars. I shall fill my lap with roses Gathered in the milky way, All to carry home to mother. Oh! what will she say! Little rocking, sailing moon, Do you hear me shout — Ahoy! Just a little nearer, moon, To please a little boy. Lady luna, maiden of sky No longer empty, creating new light

Fire devours the land Pestilence spreads Across an ashen waste Leaving nothing But dust Our earth is scorched Swaddled in conflagration Searing all eyes From scarcely glimpsing divine We took the soil Turning all to sand A blackened land Of once home Clay in the hand Are we any more than Clay in the hand Are we any more than Dust Dust of the earth Born astride the grave Now the leading instrument In an anthem of flames Choking life prances In silver mirage Seaking peace from civil slaughter Clay in the hand Are we any more than Clay in the hand Are we any more than Fresh born eyes looking out Coal trees Emerging emerald Could our shame be enough To bury us

Open Skies 06:42
Stories whispered Of a blood that washed clean All horrors of our past and present To make us pure again Alkaline solution Promised to heal Suffocating the protrusion Leaving but a shell Poison running through her veins Bleeding into every precious cell Alkaline solution Promised to heal Suffocating the protrusion Leaving but a shell Poison running through her veins Bleeding into every precious cell She takes a stolen breath to hear his voice once more Child, fragile, waits to see the sun come home Collapsing feeble hands feel silence echo through the room Her shining, borrowed light, flickers out Hand in hand here we are, waiting for A final gust of wind Frozen by her eyes, frigid bedside A plead to come alive If I had known this crown of thorns would wrap around her Would I ever have prayed to you? Still here I stare into open skies Break through the lid, bend firmament, show me why to believe in you As here I stare Climb Down, Climb Down, Climb Down From Heaven As here I stare

about

This album is a eulogy to a close friend of the band that died a slow and painful death from kidney cancer. She was a young mother of three little boys. The album is being released in her honor and deals with making sense of faith and meaning amidst tragedy and seemingly stolen youthful life.
